New Production photo shoots
Collaborating with extraordinary photographers and Met directors/designers, Elena Park oversaw new production photo photos featuring many of the world's leading opera singers. The new approach to imagery was part of General Manager Peter Gelb's overall approach to re-invigorating the Met when he took over in the fall of 2006. Elena produced the photo shoots in studios around the world for nine seasons, from 2006-07 to 2013-14.
Many of the more ambitious photo shoots sought to convey the aesthetic of a new Met production, sometimes months before it existed on the stage. Here are some of images that resulted from creating more elaborate settings in studios. The Met's Jonathan Tichler organized the production elements of the shoots, among many other elements.
